I offer a wide variety of blacksmithing classes at the forge. I typically have a pretty flexible schedule. Contact me directly about scheduling a class for yourself, your family, or a group of friends.

Class Information and Pricing

Seahorse Knives: In this class, students will turn a masonry nail into a small integral knife that is a perfect sizes for utility tasks on the job, a home in the tacklebox, or sewing box. You will learn how to forge your piece to shape, heat treat, and sharpen it. The class lasts from 1-2 hours and is $30 per person.

Hair Sticks: In this class, students will learn how to forge out and twist a steel hair stick. These are great funtional utility pieces and excellent for both fashion and self-defense purposes. The class lasts from 1-2 hours and is $30 per person

Railroad Spike to Knife: This class covers turning a railroad spike into a medium sized knife. We will cover using the power hammer, hand hammering, grinding bevels, and sharpening. This class lasts from 2-4 hours and is $100 per person

Hunting Knife: In this class, students will forge a full tang hunting knife from bar stock. We will cover all aspects of the heat treat process, setting up the handle for scales, drilling, shaping / sharpening of the blade, and shaping the handle. This class can be done in one long day with a 1.5 hour break in the middle or spread over two days that do not have to be consecutive. The cost of this class is $250

Chef's Knife: In this class, students will forge a full tang chefs knife from bar stock. We will cover all aspects of the heat treat process, setting up a hand for scales, drilling, shaping / sharpening of the blade, and shaping the handle. This class can be done in on elong day with a 1.5 hour break in the middle or spread over two days that do not have to be consecutive. The cost of this class is $250
